Free Mobile Clinic Sites

The Mobile Clinic holds clinics at a variety of sites throughout the year. Please check our calendar page to see our upcoming clinic dates.

Columbus Junction

Columbus Junction is a community approximately 45 minutes southeast of Iowa City and the University of Iowa. This community is a mix of traditional rural Iowan’s and immigrants from Latin America and Burma. Our services at this site include screenings for diabetes and cholesterol, blood pressure checks, health education, and physical exams for children and adults.

Pheasant Ridge

The Mobile Clinic site at the Pheasant Ridge community center is equipped to handle the needs of the diverse Pheasant Ridge community, including having plentiful resources available for Arabic speakers. The Pheasant Ridge clinic offers smoking cessation resources in addition to typical Mobile Clinic services.

St. Patrick’s Church

The St. Patrick’s Church offers diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol screening, health education sessions, administration of physical exams, and physical therapy sessions. Physicians and student patient examiners will be available to see adult and pediatric patients with any acute or chronic concerns. Social workers will also be available to discuss resources in the community.

Shelter House

The Shelter House clinics are held at the Shelter House occur on a rotating basis on the third Saturday of the month, with Shelter House being the primary location. The clinics are geared toward servicing the homeless populations of Iowa City. Services currently offered at this clinic include diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol screening; flu shots; and health education sessions on specific topics. HIV & HepC testing is available at this location.

West Liberty

Services currently offered at this clinic include diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol screening, as well as health education sessions on specific topics. Dentistry and physical therapy are typically available every other month.

Ecumenical Towers

Ecumenical Towers is a government subsidized living space for low-income senior citizens. This patient population that comes to clinic are primarily elderly people. To cater to the patient population, we host a variety of specialty clinics such as Physical Therapy, Neurology, and Dental. The primary services provided are blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks (Hemoglobin A1c), cholesterol checks, physician consultations, and health education.  

Open Heartland

Open Heartland is a grassroots non-profit organization that celebrates the diversity of the Iowa City Community. This clinic provides food, clothing, community support, resources, and a place for children and families to play and learn. Services currently offered at this clinic include diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol screening and management; flu and COVID vaccines; health education sessions; and provider examinations. At times, dermatology and dental services are provided. 

Coarlville Library Clinic

The Coralville Community Clinic is a larger Mobile Clinic site with access to an array of interpreter services which allows the clinic to host a variety of specialty services for patients. At the clinic, patients may receive the normal services: vitals, labs, reading glasses, health education, and seeing a physician. We also sometimes offer specialty services: dentistry, physical therapy, neurology, and exercise physiology – keep an eye out for our advertisements to see what specialty services are available for each clinic!

CommUnity Clinic

CommUnity Food Pantry provides free check for your blood pressure, glucose A1c, and cholesterol level. Health education and providers are also there to help. Pick up some free groceries on your way home if needed.
